3 - 6 months of Travel, Adventure, Spanish, Education and Voluntary Work

The programme is a combination of Spanish tuition, exciting travel and challenging experiences. If you wish to learn Spanish and at the same time have the possibility of exploring Venezuela - this is the course is for you.

As well as the Spanish language, the course gives an understanding of the Venezuelan culture and society while you travel and experience the country. A part of the tuition takes place during the excursions, meaning that you will have Spanish classes in the jungle or on the beach in form of "the travelling class room".

Some of the excursions last for several days, where you travel up rivers or by jeep across the savannah. You will experience some of the most exciting places in the world. The excursions can be demanding and challenging but are worth all the effort.

You will visit the Warao and the Pemon Indians, watch dolphins in their natural environment, gain insight to the native culture of South America and much more. On these excursions you will be accompanied by guides who are familiar with the landscape and environment. You will have many opportunities to practice your new Spanish skills with the local people.

2 weeks Playa Colorada - Mochima
Intensive Spanish, trips to islands, waterfalls and neighboring villages. Introduction to navigation and survival skills, Salsa, Merenguege and local cooking. 3-day kayaking expedition and dolphin encounter.
1 weeks Caripe
Close by is the "Eden of the East", the lush and mountanous Caripe region famous for its coffee plantations and farming culture. Exploration of the Guachero cave and it's inhabitants. Mountain treks, horesebackriding and camping. Ongoing Spanish lessons.
2 weeks Orinoco Delta
Kayak expedition. Explore the waterways, jungles and sabanas and being amongst an amazing abundance of wildlife and flora. Ongoing Spanish class. Staying at bush camp and sleeping in hammocks.
1 week Playa Colorada
Stay at Jakera Lodge for classes in Intensive Spanish, History and Culture. Plenty of time for volley ball, cooking classes, diving etc.. Visits to local sites and museums in Barcelona and Cumana
2 weeks Gran Sabana, the Lost World and Roraima
Jeep safari to the mysticaland ancient highlands, visiting various indigenous Permon settlements, spectacular waterfalls and a week's roundtrip hiking to the top of Roraima. Ongoing Spanish
4 weeks Playa Colorada
Voluntary work. Working on a community project with local people. This is a chance to give something back to the hosting country. Spanish classses in the morning and voluntary work in the afternoon.
2 x 4 weeks. Personal Development Programmes
Teaching English, National Parks, wildlife conservation, photography, tour guiding, adventure sport training, journalism, tourism, bar and restaurant, hotel management, building and construction, sailing etc.
2 weeks Canaima & Angel Falls
One-week hike into Canaima and trip to Angel Falls. Sleeping in the wilderness. The second week is spent in Pemon village of Canaima, exploring the area and learning Spanish. Flight back to La Paragua.
2 Weeks Playa Colorada
Plenty of chill time, fun on the beach and goodbye party.
Relaxation, sunbathing and sleeping in hammocks.

8-16 weeks of Travel, Adventure, Spanish and Voluntary Work.

The programme offers an amazing adventure of Spanish, wildlife, jungle, rafting, surfing , mountainbiking, horsebackriding and much more. Every week you visit a different part of Ecuador and end your travels by doing something for the country while practising the Spanish you learnt on your way. The group will visit the tranquile Andes, the diverse rainforest and the amazing wildlife and nature of the jungle. The Spanish teacher is on the road with the group for 4-5 weeks during the first 2 months. Being surronded by the culture and the locals, your Spanish skills will improve fast.

The groups are international, though still with a majority of Danes. All guides are local and have great expertise and knowledge of their country. Groups depart February, June and September.

Ecuador is one of the smallest countries in South America, and all corners of the country can be reached within 24 hours by bus. The country is a wonderful destination for travellers who are interested in outdoor and nature-related activities. A definite must for wildlife enthustiasts.

Ecuador has 4 diverse and rich regions: the Amazon Rain forest, the Coast, the highland Andes, and the Galapagos The four regions are subdivided into 22 provinces. Besides its exuberant biodiversity, Ecuador embraces an impressive variety of ethnic groups, including some untouched communities which still preserve traditional values and cultural manifestations from ancient times.

Week 1 - Arrival Qutio and a trip to the rain forest:
Spanish lessons, waterfalls, bathting in the river, helping the village with dayly routines and discovering wild life! You stay in huts in treetops or overlooking the river.
Week 2 - A week in Otavalo
Exploring the Andes from horseback or visitng the local "Otavalos" . Excursions to waterfalls and lakes and time to relax and shop at the wonderfull markets.
Week 3 - Quito
With intensive Spanish and practising in the evening with your Ecuadorian hostfamily. In the afternoons you will learn the art of Sala and Ecuadorian cooking.
Week 4 - Tena and the Orient
Time for some jungle adventure with kayaking, rafting, canooing and discovery of the ancient Indian tribes and the wildlife of the jungle. The first days are spent in the jungle town of Tena, next is camping in tents next to the Amazon rivers.
Week 5-7 - The Coast
It is time for Spanish classes again! But this time while living in a nice hostel - with swimmingpool - at the seashore. One part of the day you´ll have classes, and the other part of the day you go horsebackriding playing beachvolleyball, birdwatching, following surfing classes - the waves are good in Montañita
Week 8.- The highlands
Visit Cuenca, according to the Ecuadorians the most beautiful city of Ecuador. Sightseeing and trekking in the National Park Las Cajas. Alausí is the next destination, from where the train will take you from the Devil's Nose up to Riobamba. These 2 days will be dedicated to mountainbiking in and around the mountains and volcanoes, starting with a biking tour down the Chimborazo from a hight of 4800 meters!
4 or 8 weeks Voluntary work programmes
Teaching English in local schools or working in organic projects in the rainforest or jungle on the mainland or on the Galapagos Islands.

12 weeks of Travel, Trekking, Rafting, Education and Voluntary Work.

The programme In India is a combination of education, adventure and voluntary work. The group explores the Northern part of the country, where they will experience a number of spectacular sights.

From the magnificent Taj Mahal to offerings on the banks of the holy River of Ganges. From Keoladeo Ghana National Park to marble palaces and sightseeing from a rickshaw. From painting lessons and yoga to river rafting on River Ganges.

In between all these experiences, the programme also offers lessons in all kinds of subjects, such as Astronomy, Religion, Classical Music, Indian History, Astrology, Art, Yoga and much more. Even though the programme seems pretty eventful there will always be opportunities for tranquil moments or even participation in advanced yoga lessons.

Get close to the locals and experience a culture very different from our own. The Indian people are very friendly, polite and grateful to meet people from other parts of the world. Visits to schools, hospitals and orphanages are arranged.

The group will be accommodated at hostels, guest houses, host families and in camps. The teaching is in English, so everyone can participate.

3 Weeks Delhi - Agra - Haridwar - Rishikesh - Devpryag
Roundtrip in the Northern part of India. Experience Delhi. See the Taj Mahal in Agra and kayak on the holy river of Ganges. Explore the country while learning about its culture and people. Lessons include Yoga, Religion, History and plenty of social activities. Excursions include hiking trips in the mountains, visit to National Wildlife Park, evening prayers to mother Ganges, river rafting and much more.
1 week in Jaipur
Lessons in various exciting subjects and cultural activitites give you a sense of Indian life in Rajasthan, which is known as the Lectures on Indian Religions, History, Philosophy, Economics, Music, Politics, Art, Dance, Music, Culture and Tradition. You will be staying with an Indian host family and will maybe experience a local ceremony, such as a wedding or a festival.
8 weeks Voluntary Work in Rajasthan
You will spend the days teaching school children English, helping the village people, assisting the local health worker carrying out regular immunisation of the infants and pregnant women, and be a part of rural life. The group stays in a camp of their own. The work stay includes weekend excursions to Jodphur, Jaisalmer, Bikaner and Mandawa.

12 Weeks of Travel, Trekking, Rafting, Education and Voluntary Work.

The programme in Nepal combines education with travel, adventure and voluntary work. The Nepalese children really need help with their English abiliites and their education in general. So if you have a good knowledge of the English language you will be highly qualified, and be of great help to the country.

Before you start teaching you will be introduced to the Nepalese culture, religion, tradition and school systems. You will be teaching in local schools or work at a children's home in Kathmandu. During the volunteer project you will live in schools or private homes and live with the wonderful warm-hearted people of Nepal.

While you are there, you will also experince great adventures in this wonderful country. Among other things is trekking and jungle safari, and you will experience amazing nature and animal life.

Week 1 Nepalese culture
Introduction to Nepalese History, religion geography, flora & fauna and wildlife of Nepal. Introduction to meditation and teaching. Sightseeing in an around Kathmandu.
1 weeks: Caripe

Voluntary work in Kathmandu (school or children's home)
Week 8
River rafting on the river of Trisuli and safari in Chitwan National Park where you can experience fantastic wildlife up close.
Week 9-12
Continuation of voluntary work

During the voluntary work accommodation is included. Projects outside Quito (except for Galapagos) all meals are included.

The program

The trip to Angel Falls is only possible when there is enough water to get up the river. The students can purchase either option on site in Canaima as a day trip for around $75. Before departure all participants receive updated program.

Flights
We usually fly Lufthansa via Frankfurt, so if your students can join the group there it is perfect. If not please try to book the student on a flight that arrives in the afternoon of the arrival date. From January 2004 the group will fly to Barcelona which is only a short drive from the camp. A guide will make sure they get on the connecting flight. The price for a one way is $50, which can be invoiced or paid on arrival.
